THE STORY OF KOMIŽA  – GET TO KNOW THE AUTHENTIC KOMIŽA

Every day from the Komiža bay, at our Falkusa point located across from the Venetian fortress “Komuna,” we organize the Experience of Sailing with a Latin sail led by Pino Vojković, captain of the Falkuša “Palagruža.” Falkusa storytelling and sailing last 1.5-2 hours, and departures are in the morning or late afternoon. Groups are sized 6-10 persons, allowing us to focus on each guest individually. There are two crew members on board. Enjoy a relaxing sail on the beautiful Gajeta Falkuša and the view of charming Komiža with a unique local story recognized globally. An exceptional experience that will take you through natural and cultural heritage in a way you’ll remember forever! Prepare for an encounter with local tradition in a special way, while sailing with a Latin sail, enjoying traditional food, tasting a glass of Vis Plavac wine, and immersing yourself in island stories.

We’ll sail to the birthplace of the fishing industry in the USA – to the island of Biševo! Captain of the Falkuša and maritime heritage promoter Pino Vojković will draw you into the world of the past with interesting and educational stories about Gajeta Falkuša and the history of Komiža. After boarding the Falkuša, you’ll experience sailing with a Latin sail – a skill known today only to a few. You’ll hear fascinating stories about pirates and fishermen, participate interactively in sailing, and feel a deep connection with the surrounding nature. When we arrive at the island of Biševo, we’ll head towards the Visitor Center at the top of the island. Explore the center and taste traditional products. There’s also the possibility of visiting the Blue Cave. Sail back to the town of Komiža.
