Lost Varieties of Dalmatia -Wine tasting

If we take into account that the most valuable grape varieties are autochthonous, then Dalmatia is one of the most important wine treasuries. In fact, here you can find as many as a hundred ancient varieties that, after centuries and centuries of cultivation in the same location, have taken on certain specific characteristics that cannot be reproduced in any other way. This is a true treasure measured in vines.

However, some of the old varieties have almost disappeared from collective memory over time. Fortunately, today there are more and more winemakers who want to revitalise the valuable lost varieties and save them from oblivion.

This is by no means an easy task. It takes a lot of effort, persistence and hard work to bring back a lost variety, so only the greatest experts and true wine lovers embark on that journey. This workshop presents their world to you – the world of lost varieties.

Wine tasting workshop Lost Varieties of Dalmatia includes a tasting of 3-5 wine varieties paired with traditional Dalmatian dishes. The programme takes place in the Kaštil Slanica restaurant located in the Cetina river canyon.

The programme includes:

• Wine tasting in the Kaštil Slanica restaurant
• 3-5 wines
• Snack or lunch/dinner
