Game of Thrones and the history of Split

On this tour, you will be introduced to stories from the Game of Thrones filming locations and the stories behind them. We start our adventure in front of the Bronze Gate – the entrance to the Diocletian`s Cellars next to the bronze scale model of the city of Split. From there, we`ll enter the Cellars of the Diocletian’s Palace and visit the chamber called Great Basilica where many scenes from the series were filmed, but the most famous one is a dungeon for two of Khaleesi`s dragons.  Then we`ll move to the other chambers used for filming and we`ll hear some stories about Split and some parallels between the cities of Meeren and Split and how their histories relate. Next, we`ll move to the upper part of the Diocletian’s Palace and discover some interesting details and more stories. We`ll also visit the ”Kill the Masters” street. From there, we`ll continue our tour towards the Golden Gate of the Palace and finish our tour next to the Game of Thrones Store and Museum which you can visit and take a photo on the Iron Throne.
