Get to know Kaštela through a costumed storytelling tour with a heritage interpreting guide. On this journey through history, discover how Kaštela developed, about the way of life of nobles and peasants and the beautiful tragic story of two young lovers Miljenko and Dobrila through the stories of Dobrila’s servant Antica.

On this tour, you`ll get to know about the story of Miljenko and Dobrila who lived in the 17th century and about the history and development of Kaštela in the 15th century under the rule of the Venetian Republic. Find out how nobles and peasants lived through the interpretation of the costumed character Antica, Dobrila’s servant clothed in Kaštela’s working attire, and find out more about the clothes and customs of that time.

The tour begins at Dobrila’s Vitturi castle – today’s Museum of the Town of Kaštela. After that, we continue to the oldest church in Kaštel Lukšić – Church of Our Lady dated in 1530 where Miljenko and Dobrila got married. The tour continues to Miljenko’s Rušinac castle and finishes next to the Church of John the Baptist where the young lovers were buried.

 

Duration: 60 min.
Accessibility: Wheelchair access, there are a few steps at the entrances of the Vitturi and Rušinac castles but it should not be a problem.
Level of difficulty: Light walk, it is recommended to bring a bottle of water and comfortable shoes.
Booking: up to 24 hours before the start of the tour (via e-mail or mobile phone).
Pets: allowed.
