Throughout history, Split has always been a city people left in search of a better life— yet it was also a city that departed with all of its children, forever remaining a part of their hearts.
This tour takes you through the moving, often forgotten stories of emigrants from Split who set off from the city beneath Marjan Hill into the unknown, carrying in their suitcases nothing but a handful of native soil, their memories, and the hope of a better future. From distant South America and New Zealand to the cold North, we will discover how the people of Split built new worlds while leaving an indelible mark on the sea from which they sailed.
