Strangers of the Village is a tour that brings forward stories of those who, from the island, once looked beyond the horizon. Standing proudly on the hill of Pliš, Selca is a village carved in stone, yet shaped by encounters—encounters that brought new ideas, knowledge, and ways of seeing the world into this place.
Here, some found opportunity, work, and sometimes even a home, leaving behind traces that became woven into the fabric of the village itself. From elegant houses to a monumental church, Selca preserves the stories of these meetings. This tour follows how strangers, over time, became part of Selca—quietly yet enduringly, as if they had always belonged.
