LegendFest Poljica 2026 will take place on 29 and 30 August 2026 in Čažin Dolac, Tugare, in the heart of the historic Poljica region, offering a two-day programme dedicated to fairies, myths, legends, and the rich cultural heritage of Dalmatia.
This year’s festival theme is Fairies – the mysterious beings of Croatian oral tradition that have lived for centuries in folk tales, songs, and popular beliefs. Through lectures, storytelling, traditional music, workshops, exhibitions, and stage performances, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the richness of the mythological heritage of Poljica and Croatia.
The programme includes:
- LegendExpo – the exhibition “Fairies – Between Folklore, Nature and Art”
- LegendFair featuring local products, traditional crafts, and handmade goods
- Expert lectures and storytelling sessions about fairies, myths, and folk legends
- Workshops for children and adults
- A medieval camp with demonstrations of historical armour and equipment
- A traditional blacksmith’s forge and dry-stone wall building workshop
- “Fairy Bellows” – a gathering and presentation of Croatia’s traditional musical instruments
- Concerts by Ansambl PLET, Domagoj Vuković VUK, VEJA, and other performers
- A spectacular fire performance by Pyratess
For many years, LegendFest has brought together scholars, artists, storytellers, musicians, and enthusiasts of Croatian traditional culture, creating a unique blend of cultural heritage, nature, and a contemporary festival experience.
