With Music and Imagery to Our Lady of Sinj - Brodosplit City Choir

In a year of great jubilees for Croatia, but also for Sinj and the Cetina region, we proudly announce the new music video for the Cantata to Our Lady of Sinj, which will be formally presented on August 9, during the Days of the Alka and the Assumption 2025.

This spiritual and musical tribute to the Miraculous Lady of Sinj was thought out by Matko Petrić, with music composed by maestro Vlado Sunko and text authored by Franciscan friar, historian, and art historian Josip Ante Solde. The cantata is performed by the famous Brodosplit City Choir, whose performance lends depth and emotion to this unique project.

The video shows the key symbols of Sinj’s spiritual and historical identity: the Shrine of the Miraculous Lady of Sinj; the Franciscan monastery and its collections; the Museum of the Alka of Sinj, and Alka knights and their squires; the Museum of the Cetina Region in Sinj; the Monument to an Alka Knight; the Franciscan Classical Gymnasium; the Kamičak Fortress and Sinj itself; the Stations of the Cross; and the Sinj Hippodrome.

This production would not have been possible without the support and collaboration of many institutions and individuals. We thank Central Dalmatia, the Town of Sinj, the Alka Knights’ Association, Friar Gabrijel Hrvatin Jurišić, Boris Filipović-Grčić, Darija Domazet, Maja Kovačević and the Equstrian Club Piket, Friar Marinko Vukman, the custos and rector of the Shrine; and Friar Antonio Mravak, the parish priest of the Parish of Our Lady of Sinj.

As we await the August premiere, this project stands as a powerful link between faith, art, and identity. In a year of historical jubilees that testify to the thousand-year struggle of the Croatian people for faith, freedom, and statehood, we celebrate 1100 years since the coronation of King Tomislav, 310 years since the miraculous victory at Sinj and the founding of the Alka of Sinj, and 30 years since the glorious Operation “Storm”. This year embodies pride, gratitude, and unity, inviting us to remember our heroes through liturgical feasts, cultural happenings, and art events, to strengthen our national identity, and to look toward the future with faith.
